Proverbs 28:4
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law contend with them.
I remember sitting across from a Muslim brother I had just met—hot coffee in hand, heart wide open with curiosity. We were in deep conversation when I asked him about jihad. Not the headlines, but the heart behind it. “Why war?” I asked.
He nodded slowly and replied,
“Like many faiths, some take it literal—but the real jihad? That’s the war within. The battle we fight daily… not against others, but against the lower version of ourselves.”
That hit me deep. Because across the board—from Christianity to Buddhism, from Judaism to Hinduism—there’s a sacred thread: the real fight is internal.
It’s the war against the petty self…
The shadow-self that chooses bitterness over betterment, comfort over calling, escape over evolution.
And whether you realize it or not—you’re already drafted.
Breathing? You’re enlisted. Living? You’re in the story.
No sidelines in this life.
Which brings us to Proverbs 28:4 (NIV):
“Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked, but those who heed it resist them.”
Yeah… remember that old saying on the block , “My name is Bennett, and I ain’t in it?”
That might work to dodge neighborhood beef.
But in the spiritual realm? In the ecosystem of morality, justice, and divine intention?
Nah, friend. Yo name ain’t Bennett.
Baby, you in it!
Here’s the deeper layer:
We are connected—tangled up in the same human song.
Those daily choices? They're not isolated echoes.
They ripple.
They either contribute to the harmony of healing
—or the chaos of decay.
Every time you forsake divine instruction, you’re a giving standing ovation to what’s broken.
Every time you lean into sacred wisdom, you push back against the darkness.
We are tuning forks in the hands of the Spirit.
Each act of justice vibrates through the cosmos.
Each moment of silence in the face of evil—
echoes louder than words.
When you let inspiration go…
you leave space for the uninspired to fill the room.
–2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
“All Scripture is God-breathed…”–Then Psalm 19:7 (NIV) “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.”
Do you see how this all fits? The Word didn’t come out of a rulebook—it came out of the breath of God.
So when we forsake that breath, we become windless sails—adrift, while at the same time leading others with us.
But we can turn this around when we choose truth, when we live right, when we stand firm.
And you don’t just avoid wickedness—you resist it.
You become a standing stone. A sacred interruption.
✊🏾 SO LONG LIVE RESISTANCE
Right now, the world’s heavy with injustice—
toward immigrants, toward the poor, toward our own neighbors.
We live in a country where Policies isolate.
Systems suppress.
But you—yes, you—can be holy resistance.
Every choice to love.
Every post that builds.
Every conversation soaked in empathy.
Every refusal to laugh at evil-stupid jokes
It’s all resistance.
And resistance is sacred.
It’s worship with backbone.
Prayer
Lord, help me resist evil by choosing what gives life.
Today’s Challenge
Reach out to someone fighting for good—encourage them.
Then ask: Where can I show up and resist wrong… by living right?
